OnePlus has launched the 15R as a premium mid-range option, arriving a month after the OnePlus 15 and alongside the OnePlus Pad Go 2. How does it differ from the OnePlus 13R?
Unlike the OnePlus 13R’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the OnePlus 15R is powered by the newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset.
The OnePlus 15R features a 6.83-inch FHD+ OLED display with a higher 165Hz refresh rate compared to the 13R’s 120Hz panel.
The OnePlus 15R feature a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, while dropping the telephoto lens this time. What about the OnePlus 13R? Ithas a triple camera setup headlined by a 50MP Sony LYT-700 camera, along with a 50MP telephoto, and an 8MP ultrawide camera.
At the front, the OnePlus 15R may get a 32MP selfie camera, which is a noticeable jump from the 16MP unit on the OnePlus 13R.
OnePlus is reportedly upgrading the battery to 7,400mAh on the 15R from the 6000mAh of the OnePlus 13R, while keeping the same 80W fast charging support.
The OnePlus 15R starts at Rs 44,999 for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, with sales beginning December 22 and pre-orders already live. On the other hand, the OnePlus 13R was launched at Rs 42,999 and it is currently available at Rs 38,567 on Flipkart.
The OnePlus 15R brings notable improvements in chipset, display refresh rate, and battery capacity over the 13R, making it a worthwhile update for users wanting smoother performance and longer usage. However, if you want a mid-range premium phone without spending over Rs 40,000, then OnePlus 13R is still a good buy. All it depends on your needs.
