The next wave of Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-powered flagships is about to hit the Indian market, and OnePlus is officially joining the race. After Realme confirmed that its GT 8 Pro will be India’s first phone with Qualcomm’s latest chipset, and iQOO lined up the iQOO 15 soon after, OnePlus has now revealed plans to launch the OnePlus 15 in the country. news Also Read: Qualcomm Unveils Snapdragon X2 Elite And X2 Elite Extreme Chips For Next-Gen Windows PCs

The announcement comes just ahead of the phone’s scheduled October launch in China, but what’s surprising is the teaser shared by OnePlus India, confirming that the flagship will also arrive here in the coming months. If the company follows its usual timeline, the India launch could take place in November or December. news Also Read: Xiaomi 17 Pro, Xiaomi 17 Pro Max Launched With Dual Displays, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5: Price, Specs

What to Expect From the OnePlus 15

At the heart of the new device is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which is set to deliver big gains in performance and efficiency. OnePlus is pairing it with OxygenOS optimisations tailored for gaming. The company claims the system will maintain smoother frame rates and reduce heat build-up during extended sessions.

On the camera front, the OnePlus 15 introduces the brand’s new DetailMax image engine. The system uses advanced algorithms and the chip’s processing power to produce sharper, more lifelike images with improved clarity.

OnePlus 15 Design and Display Upgrades

Leaked renders and the unit showcased at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit in China confirm a design shift. The OnePlus 15 swaps out the circular camera module seen on the OnePlus 13 for a square housing, similar to the OnePlus 13T (or 13S in India). The phone will also feature a 165Hz AMOLED display, offering smoother visuals, though reports suggest the resolution may drop to 1.5K compared to earlier models.

Interestingly, OnePlus is skipping the “OnePlus 14” branding altogether, moving straight to the OnePlus 15. The company also teased another device powered by the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip.
