Lava has finally expanded its Play series with the launch of a new budget smartphone, which seems to be aimed at students, basic users with social media scrolling, and casual gamers looking for an affordable option. The new Lava Play Max 5G gets VC Chamber Cooling, which Lava is calling a segment-first feature for smoother gaming sessions. The Play Max is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, built on the 4nm process. Moreover, the highlight of the phone seems to be the Vapor Chamber Cooling (VC Cooling). Lava says this helps maintain temperature during long gameplay hours; however, it is hard to tell how effective it is without review.

The Lava Play Max packs a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging. On the software side, it runs Clean Android 15 with no ads, no bloatware and no preloaded apps.
Lava Play Max 5G will be available starting December 2025 through Lava retail outlets. How much does it cost? The basic version of 6GB RAM with 128GB storage variant is priced at Rs 12,999, while the 8GB RAM option can be purchased for Rs 14,999. Lava says that financing options from major banks will also be available. The phone comes in two colour options – Deccan Black and Himalayan White.
