IPL 2024: Airtel announces special prepaid data plans starting at Rs 39

IPL 2024: The Indian Premier League (IPL) begins today, which means you need more data to watch the Livestream of today’s and upcoming matches.  Airtel is allowing you to do just that with its latest data plan offering. The Airtel IPL Bonanza brings three prepaid data plans, including a revised plan offering unlimited Internet. Airtel prepaid users can utilize the benefits of these plans right now via the Airtel Thanks app available on Android and iOS.

Airtel IPL Bonanza offers: Plan benefits, validity and more

The Airtel IPL Bonanza has three updated data packs that get you enough Internet to watch the IPL games. Following are the special plans for IPL 2024.

Rs 39 data plan with 1 Day validity – This plan offers unlimited data with an FUP of 20GB. This is the most basic plan.

Rs 49 data plan with 1 Day validity – This plan offers the same benefits as the basic plan under IPL Bonanza, however, this one gets you a free subscription to Airtel’s Wynk Music Premium for 30 days. This prepaid recharge plan isn’t new exactly, but it’s now been updated with the Wync Music offer.

Rs 79 data plan with 2 Days validity – Airtel has updated its Rs 99 data plan as it now costs only Rs 79. It offers unlimited data with an FUP of 20GB but for a validity of 2 days.

These plans ensure that IPL fans don’t run out of data. A single IPL match runs for around three to four hours, which may take up GBs of data depending on the resolution you watch in. If you watch a single match in 1080p resolution it may consume up to 4GB of data. On 4K resolution, the total data usage may reach 20GB. That said, the unlimited plans by Airtel with a 20GB cap make sense.

If you want to recharge your Airtel prepaid number with any of the above plans, you can do that via the Airtel Thanks App. Follow the steps below to recharge your Airtel number with Rs 39, Rs 49, or Rs 79 data plans.

— Open the Airtel Thanks app on your smartphone.

— Scroll down and look for the Shortcuts section. Here, tap on ‘top up data’.

— You should now see all the new plans listed in the data tab.

— Tap on Buy on the data pack you want to recharge.

— Select the payment method – UPI or other options.

— Tap on Pay Now. Enter UPI PIN and submit.

Your phone should now be recharged with the unlimited data plan.
