Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 launches globally alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Flip 7 FE.
Samsung just launched its Galaxy Z Fold 7, but the excitement is now shifting to what comes next. According to well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 could be the first Samsung phone to feature a crease-free folding display. If it comes true, it will give tough competition to Apple in the foldable smartphone space as tech giant is reportedly working on it. Also Read: Just Like Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, But Better! What’s changing in the Galaxy Z Fold 8? One of the biggest complaints with foldables so far has been the visible crease in the middle of the screen. Samsung seems ready to fix that with the Galaxy Z Fold 8, which is tipped to use laser-drilled display metal plates. These are designed to reduce the stress on the folding area, helping create a smoother, flatter display when opened. Also Read: Samsung Takes Fresh Dig At Apple Over Foldable iPhones And AI Features
This technology is being supplied by Fine M-Tec, a South Korean company that’s also reportedly working with Apple for its first foldable iPhone. Apple hasn’t launched a foldable iPhone yet, but its involvement is already impacting the industry. Reports suggest that Apple has stricter standards when it comes to crease visibility, which could push suppliers to improve the technology faster. This race to a better foldable screen could benefit consumers across the board, whether you’re team Samsung or team Apple.
This big update comes after the launch of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, which was launched earlier this month. It comes with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 “Elite for Galaxy” chip, a large 8-inch inner display, and a 6.5-inch outer screen. It features a triple rear camera system with a 200MP main sensor, and is powered by a 4,400mAh battery with 25W fast charging. But even with all that, the visible crease still remains.
