iQOO 15 To Offer 5 Years Of OS Updates And 7 Years of Security Support

Ahead of its India launch later this month, iQOO has confirmed that its upcoming iQOO 15 will receive five years of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates. According to the company, the iQOO 15 will be the first phone from the brand to launch with Android 16-based OriginOS 6 right out of the box. With the new update policy, you can expect major Android version updates till Android 21 along with regular security patches for seven years.

This will be a big upgrade as it previously offered four years of OS and five years of security updates on its flagship devices like the iQOO 13 and iQOO 12.

iQOO 15: What Else to Expect

The iQOO 15 is set to launch in India on November 26, and it will be available in Alpha (black) and Legend (white) variants, the teaser has confirmed. The phone is confirmed to feature a 2K resolution M14 Lead OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 2600 nits of brightness. It will run on the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset coupled with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. For heat management, it will include a single-layer vapour chamber cooling system. These features are similar to the Chinese variant that debuted earlier this year. Moreover, it will also pack a large 7000mAh battery. While the wired charging is unknown, the wireless charging is confirmed to get 40W support.

For photography, it will feature a 50MP main, 50MP ultrawide, and a 50MP Periscope camera with 3x optical zoom. Moreover, it will get an IP68 and IP69 rating against dust and water.

iQOO 15 Price (Expected)

While the price is still unknown, it will be confirmed on November 26 during the India launch. However, it must be noted that the predecessor iQOO 13 was launched at Rs 54,999 in India last year.
