It seems like Apple is planning a big change to its iPhone Pro design but with the Dynamic Island this time. As per the latest update, the iPhone 18 Pro models are expected to get a smaller Dynamic Island. According to new leaks by Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro might feature a more compact display hole for the front camera, resulting in an even cleaner screen design. news Also Read: iPhone Air 2 In The Works? The report further mentions that Apple is reportedly testing a new display manufacturing process called HIAA (Hole-in-Active-Area) technology. In simple terms, it’s a laser-based method that allows the front camera to fit within an even tinier hole on the screen. If this technology works out, the iPhone 18 Pro could have a noticeably smaller camera cutout compared to the current Dynamic Island design. What it mean for you? It will result in more screen space for you.  news Also Read: iPhone 18 Pro vs iPhone 17 Pro: 6 Major Upgrades To Expect

There’s also speculation that Apple may eventually integrate Face ID sensors under the display, though the leaker didn’t confirm whether this would happen in 2026 or a later model.

iPhone 18 Pro Design Leak

While the front might look more minimal, the rest of the iPhone 18 Pro could stick to Apple’s familiar design formula of the current iPhone 17 Pro. According to the report, Apple is keeping the camera module design similar to the iPhone 17 Pro. What is an interesting addition is a transparent Ceramic Shield section near the MagSafe charging area, the report suggested.

There’s also talk of a “steel-shell battery” design, likely referring to improved heat management through a vapour chamber system. That could mean better cooling and longer battery health, especially during heavy use or charging.

Apart from this, the leaks suggest Apple is working on a variable aperture camera for the iPhone 18 Pro’s main sensor. In simple terms, that means the lens can adjust how much light it lets in – giving better control in bright daylight and improved performance in low-light shots.

It’s the kind of upgrade that could make everyday photography look more professional, especially for portrait and night mode shots.

iPhone 18 Pro: When We Should Expect The Launch?

The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to launch in September 2026, alongside the iPhone 18 Air and Apple’s long-rumoured foldable iPhone. Interestingly, the base iPhone 18 and the budget iPhone 18e could arrive later – sometime in early 2027 – as Apple experiments with a new split launch cycle.
