Smartphone brands like HTC always excite us when they announce something new. Although we know that new HTC devices haven’t been rock solid, we still are interested in them, probably due to the firm’s past performance. This time around, HTC has unveiled a mid-range smartphone dubbed HTC U24 Pro that has a good specs sheet on paper. Some of its highlights include a large 120Hz OLED display, dual cameras, and a Snapdragon mid-range processor. There’s also some HTC flair when it comes to the design, it has a tall form factor with HTC branding stamped right on the rear centre. The all-new HTC U24 Pro features a tall and narrow form factor. The device flaunts a large 6.8-inch display with an FHD resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It has a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling throughout the UI. HTC has used a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection to protect it from scratching. In terms of the optics, it boasts a triple-rear camera system on the back placed vertically. The setup is led by a 50MP main lens, a 12MP telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultrawide lens. The telephoto lens has 2x optical zoom support. The main camera is capable of delivering 4K footage at 30fps. It has a 32MP camera on the front for selfies. The selfie snapper can shoot 1080p videos. As for performance, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset powers the device. It is an octa-core SoC with Adreno 720 GPU. It is paired with 12GB of LPDDR RAM and 256GB/512GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The device packs a 4,600mh battery with support for 60W wired fast charging. Interestingly, it also has 15W wireless and 5W reverse wireless charging support.
The HTC U24 Pro has the following connectivity options: dual SIM G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC. It has a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB-C port for charging. It boots on Android 14 OS out of the box.
The HTC U24 Pro starts at TWD 18,990, which is roughly Rs 49,000. The smartphone is only available in Taiwan and there’s no scope for it to arrive in India anytime soon. Having said that, while the U24 Pro appears to be a decent mid-range offering, you cannot buy it in India.
