How to Download and Use Atlas

Users can download the ChatGPT Atlas browser by heading to chatgpt.com/atlas. After installing, log in with your ChatGPT account to bring your saved memories and preferences into the new browser. You can also import bookmarks, passwords, and history from Chrome, Safari, or Firefox.

To set it as your main browser, go to Settings > General > Set default.

ChatGPT Atlas Key Featues

  • ChatGPT in Sidebar: ChatGPT appears as a built-in companion on the right-hand side of the browser. It can summarise pages, help you write or edit emails, generate code, autofill forms, or answer queries related to what you’re viewing.
  • Personalised Browsing Experience: Atlas comes with built-in memory support, allowing ChatGPT to remember the websites you’ve visited and tasks you’ve completed. OpenAI has made this feature optional, allowing users to turn it off or manage it from Settings.
  • Smarter Search with ChatGPT: Instead of relying on Google or Bing, Atlas uses ChatGPT’s search engine to deliver results. The layout remains familiar, with results organised under tabs like Web, News, Images, and Videos.
  • Agent Mode: A highlight of Atlas is Agent Mode, which lets ChatGPT take actions on your behalf. You can delegate everyday tasks, like booking a restaurant, ordering groceries, or comparing gadgets online, directly to the browser.
  • In-Line Editing: Atlas also integrates ChatGPT’s editing tools right into text boxes. You can highlight any text in an email or document and click the ChatGPT icon to rephrase it, fix the tone, or shorten it instantly.
