Realme launched its flagship GT-series smartphone, that is, the Realme GT 6 at a global launch event today. The newly launched Realme GT 6 is a part of the Realme GT series, which was updated last month after almost two years with the launch of the Realme GT 6T.
While the two phones, that is, the Realme GT 6T and the Realme GT 6, might look similar from afar, Realme has packed enough surprises in the GT 6 to make it distinct and more premium. For starters, the Realme GT 6 feels more premium than the Realme GT 6T. Apart from that, the company has packed an advanced cooling system for pro gamers. It also has a far more advanced camera setup with a host of AI-based editing features for photo buffs. You can remove objects from an image. You can also drag-and-drop objects from one application into a file from another application without breaking a sweat.
In addition to that, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset that was launched globally and in India earlier this year. This new chipset is aimed at bringing AI-powered features to mid-budget smartphones. You can read all about the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset here. This leaves ample room for Realme to innovate and bring more and more AI-powered features to the device. The Realme GT 6T, on the other hand, comes with the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset.
Needless to say, the Realme GT 6 has the hallmarks of being a power performer. Here is a feature-wise breakdown for your reference:

The above table walks us through the top features of the newly launched Realme GT 6. However, there’s more to the phone than what meets the eye. We will talk about that and the overall performance of this smartphone at length in a more detailed review soon. Before that, here are our initial thoughts on the Realme GT 6:
– The Realme GT 6 comes with a dual-tone glass finish, which is the same as that of the Realme GT 6T. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The phone is slim and it has curved edges, which make up for an ergonomic design that is comfortable to use and doesn’t slip away from hands. That said, the glossy back of the phone is a fingerprint magnet and hard to keep clean. Good news is that Realme ships a silicon back that makes it a tad bit easier to keep this device clean.
– On the front, the Realme GT 6 has an OLED display with 6,000 nits of peak brightness – which is one of its stand-out features. This display is similar to what you get in the Realme GT 6T barring one critical difference that the display of the Realme GT 6 has been SGS certified for ace-level gaming performance. Of course, we will have to test it out to be able to say anything about it. Aside from that, the display of the Realme GT 6 is bright enough to withstand the Delhi sun.
– On the performance part, the Realme GT 6 offers a smooth experience thanks to its Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor. Whether you are unlocking the phone using the fingerprint sensor or simply gliding through the apps, this phone is quick to respond and never misses beat.
– The camera is definitely one of the distinguishing factors between the Realme GT 6T and the Realme GT 6. The Realme GT 6 has a far more capable camera setup, which also includes a telephoto lens and an ultra-wide-angle lens, all of which make it a lucrative proposition for those looking for a camera phone under Rs 50,000. In usage, the phone does a good job at preserving colour and other details in the indoor lighting conditions. Images captured under the sun too are crisp and sharp. That said, we’ll have to test the phone thoroughly to be able to give you a more detailed analysis of its camera capabilities.
All in all, the Realme GT 6 sure looks like a promising phone. Its AI-based camera features make it a more value-for-money proposition for those looking for a camera phone. However, we’ll need to probe and prod it further to give you a complete picture. So, stay tuned for our detailed review!
