Swiggy, the food delivery service platform, in collaboration with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), has introduced the Swiggy UPI. The move has been initiated by Swiggy in order to minimize the steps that a person has to go through while completing a transaction. For every Swiggy or Instamart order, the users were supposed to rely on third-party payment applications like Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, etc., to pay for the order. With the introduction of Swiggy UPI, the company aims to make the payment process a little less tedious for the app users. Another potential reason for the same is that it will possibly reduce the risk of payment failures and your money getting stuck while ordering food or groceries. As claimed by Swiggy, the transactions will be completed in a time range of 5 to 15 seconds. In addition, Swiggy will also notify the user in case of any issues like – technical glitches, incorrect credentials, and insufficient funds.
