X (Twitter) is not alone

It is worth noting that X is not the only social media platform that has faced an outage in the recent time. Meta’s photo and video sharing platform, Instagram, faced a massive global outage last month on March 22. The outage affected the platform for more than three hours with over 5,000 users reporting the issue with the platform in the USA only.

Apart from that, Instagram and Facebook suffer another major outage in early March 2024. The outage was caused by a technical issue in Meta’s servers. Over 550,000 users reported issues with Facebook while there were 92,000 reports of issues with Instagram.

“We know some people were having trouble accessing our apps earlier. Apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused, and thank you for your patience while our teams worked quickly to resolve,” Meta had written in a post on X at the time.
