The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has rolled out a new AI-powered assistant, called the UPI Help, to make digital payments on the UPI platform more user-friendly. The tool is designed to solve user queries, manage payment mandates, and handle grievances related to UPI transactions. Also Read: EPF Withdrawal Via UPI May Start Soon: What Subscribers Need To Know
The new tool will come in handy when users face issues while making UPI payments. Through UPI Help, users can get instant answers to their queries, check the status of their transactions, and even raise complaints about failed or pending payments. The assistant will work with issuing banks to facilitate quicker resolution of disputes, especially those processed under the UDIR (UPI Dispute Resolution) framework. Also Read: Making UPI Payments? The UPI Help also brings a mandate management feature. The tool will allow UPI users to view all their active auto-pay mandates at one place. This handy feature will help users to monitor ongoing subscriptions, automatic transactions, and recurring payments without juggling between different apps or banking portals. UPI Help will also let users log or track complaints for incomplete or merchant-related transactions directly. The system will allow users to raise service-related issues such as refunds or failed transfers – areas that have traditionally required manual follow-ups through customer care.
NPCI said the assistant will be accessible through multiple platforms, including member banks’ websites and chatbots, the DigiSaathi website, and eventually within UPI apps themselves via redirection and API integration.
The AI-powered assistant is currently under a pilot phase and rolling out to select users. NPCI will evaluate and address the feedback on the new tool before expanding it to a wider audience across UPI platforms.
