Nothing has officially confirmed one of the most anticipated details of its upcoming Nothing Phone (3). This flagship phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset. The Nothing Phone (3) is set for a global launch on July 1 in London, and more details about the device will be unveiled at the event. Alongside this, Nothing is expected to launch their first-ever headphones as well, expanding their portfolio of audio products. The upcoming Phone (3) is expected to deliver almost flagship-level performance. With the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 confirmed to power the device, this already means that multitasking and playing games will be a breeze. This chipset was recently also seen in the iQOO Neo 10. It’s a capable chip and marks a huge leap for Nothing, as the brand is using a new processor for the first time. Carl Pei also dropped some statistics and shared details about the improvements in Phone (3). The Phone (3) is expected to offer 36% faster CPU performance, 88% GPU improvement, and a 60% boost in NPU performance compared to the Phone (2)’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is built on one Cortex-X4 core at 3.2GHz, plus a cluster of Cortex-A720 and A520 cores. This chipset is designed for speed, AI smarts, and balanced power efficiency. Additionally, the Phone (3) is also confirmed to get support for 5 years of major Android updates and 7 years of security updates.
8 Gen 3 has a weaker GPU, NPU, connectivity and ISP – and default software support is 4 & 4. Phone (3) will have 5 & 7.

The Phone (3) is also expected to bring some more noticeable improvements like a 6.77-inch AMOLED LTPO display with up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness. Along with this, it is expected to feature a dot matrix design, giving the phone a fresh new look. For photography, the Phone (3) is rumoured to feature a 50MP triple rear camera system, offering great versatility for all your photo and video needs. The whole package will reportedly be powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 50W fast charging and 20W wireless charging.
With the new chipset and expected improvements, the Phone (3) could get a price bump. Earlier, Carl Pei mentioned that the Phone (3) will be priced at around £800 (approx. Rs 93,000) in the UK. In India, the pricing will likely be in the Rs 55,000 to Rs 60,000 range to keep it competitive.
