Nothing Phone 2a: How to install Android 15 Beta 1

Before you go ahead and install the Android 15 update on your Phone 2a, do note that the update may have several updates since it’s a beta version. Step 2: Go to the About phone tab and tap on Software info. Check if your device is on Nothing OS 2.5.5. If not, update the device to the said version.

Step 3: Now, download the latest software update package.

Step 4: Once downloaded, create a folder named “ota” in your Phone 2a’s internal storage directory.

Step 5: Copy the “ota” folder.

Step 6: Open your phone dialer and enter the following code – *#*#682#*#*

Step 7: The local update tool will open when you enter the above code. Now, in the drop-down list, select the software update you downloaded. You should see the downloaded package in the “ota” folder.

Step 8: Tap the “Directly apply OTA from the selection” button to begin updating. Let the update complete.

Step 9: Lastly, reboot the device and you should have the Android 15 Beta 1 installed.

How to rollback

Step 1: Download the roll-back package.

Step 2: Open your phone dialer and enter the following code – *#*#682#*#*

Step 3: Once the local update tool opens, select the unroll package and tap on “Directly apply OTA from the selection.”

The update brings all new Android 15 features alongside a new Nothing boot animation. The update also adds new wallpapers and Glyph SDK support.
