Google for India event was celebrated today marking 20 years of the tech giant’s operations in India. This year, Google has announced multiple AI features for different Indian market sectors. One of the major highlights of the event is that Google is expanding the Gemini AI model in local languages with the model already being available in Hindi. It has been confirmed that the Gemini AI model will support 8 Indian languages other than Hindi.
Google AI Overview: Starting from now, the Google AI Overview will be available in three more Indian languages apart from Hindi – Marathi, Telugu, and Bengali. Furthermore, Google Maps is also getting an update that will provide users with reports and alerts related to flooding and fog.
Google Pay: Google Pay is also getting new features like UPI circle that will allow users to raise payment requests for other people. This feature is especially going to help families where there is a single member to handle payments for children or elders. That’s not it, Google has also increased the loan limit from Rs 5,00,000 to Rs 50,00,000. However, the upper limit can be attained if you go for a gold loan on the application.
Cybersecurity and data storage: Google has also announced that the companies will be able to store their data on local servers as the tech giant wants to comply with data protection and privacy regulation laws of India. Furthermore, Google is also working to launch a Safety Engineering System in 2025 under its DigiKavach initiative.
AI-backed health facilities: Google has announced an AI-powered tuberculosis and cancer screening tool for Indian hospitals. And the best part is that the tool will be available for free for the next decade, contributing to the improvement of the Indian healthcare system.
