Vivo’s upcoming flagship X300 series is said to bring a major connectivity feature designed for Apple MacBook and iPad users. The company is planning an AirDrop-style tool that would make file sharing lot easier across Vivo X300 and Apple devices. The feature will be native to OriginOS 6 – Vivo’s proprietary custom skin over Android 16 operating system. Also Read: End Of SIM Cards? Which Countries Are Getting The eSIM-ONLY iPhone 17?
A Vivo executive shared on Chinese microblogging site, Weibo, that the X300 and X300 Pro will ship with Android 16-based OriginOS 6 – which will bring an Apple’s AirDrop-like feature to the devices. This will allow seamless transfer of files wirelessly between Vivo smartphones and Apple devices like Macs and iPads. According to the Weibo post, this year, Vivo has “lowered the threshold for connecting devices.” That means there is “no need to connect to the same Wi-Fi, nor to connect with a data cable, as long as both ends are logged in to the same Vivo account, files can be easily transferred across devices.” Also Read: 7 Best Value-For-Money Smartphones Under Rs 40,000: 50MP Cameras, AMOLED Displays, And More
According to the company, “It is a step forward in making the entire ecosystem experience smoother.”
The post mentions that Vivo X300 series and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-powered iQOO 15 will be the first to be equipped with the file sharing system. Both will ship with Android 16-based OriginOS 6.
The Vivo X300 Pro is said to pack a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset. It is expected to feature a ZEISS-backed quad rear camera setup. The compact Vivo X300 is expected to offer flagship-level upgrades in a smaller footprint.
Vivo is expected to pitch the X300 Pro against Apple’s recently launched iPhone 17 series with an upgraded camera system and a sleeker design.
This time, the Vivo X series is not just about cameras and chipsets – it is trying to bridge the two different ecosystems. If the AirDrop-style feature works as intended, it could help many users who juggle between Android phones and Apple computers.
