OnePlus has steadily built a reputation for reliable software updates, and the company has been holding on its promise to keep more devices supported for longer. The company currently promises up to four major Android updates for its smartphones and tablets – not just for flagships, but also for select mid-range models. That means more users will get longer support without having to constantly upgrade to a new device.

- OnePlus 13 / 13s / 13R / 13T – updates up to Android 19
- OnePlus 12 – updates up to Android 18
- OnePlus 11 – updates up to Android 17
- OnePlus Nord 5 / Nord 4 / Nord CE 5 – updates up to Android 19
- OnePlus Open – updates up to Android 17
- OnePlus Pad Lite – updates up to Android 19
What stands out here is the inclusion of mid-range Nord phones, which are now getting the same long-term software support as flagship models. Even the Pad Lite tablet has been added to the list, showing that OnePlus is extending its update strategy beyond just smartphones. How It Compares With Rivals
While four years of updates is commendable, it’s no longer the industry benchmark. Brands like Samsung and Google now promise up to seven Android upgrades, even for some mid-range devices. Oppo and Motorola are offering five, putting OnePlus slightly behind in the race. For a company that once prided itself on standing out, this could be an area where users expect more.
OxygenOS 16 Incoming
On the software front, OnePlus is preparing to roll out OxygenOS 16, its next big update based on Android 16. Closed beta testing has already begun, which suggests a stable release isn’t far away. Once live, it will mark the start of the next update cycle for eligible devices.
