Samsung Galaxy A Series May Cross 100 Million Unit Sales In India: Impact Of AI In Budget Phones?

Samsung has recently launched its budget A-series phone — the Galaxy A17 5G in India. Now, the tech giant claims that they are expecting to cross the 100 million unit sales mark of its Galaxy A-series in India. While there have been several smartphones within the series which promise to bring premium features at a reasonable price, however, the latest Galaxy A17 5G is said to bring AI features at an affordable price.  Also Read: Diwali Sale Feast! The smartphone maker has sold around 96 million units of the Galaxy A series till June 2025 since 2019, Raju Pullan, the Senior Vice President of Samsung India, MX Business, said in a statement to PTI. He further said, “Actually, it’s the largest portfolio of smartphones that we have in the Samsung bouquet of products. Samsung Galaxy A17 5G: What Does It Bring To The Table?

The Samsung Galaxy A17 5G comes with Circle to Search with Google to quickly search for elements on your screen. Moreover, it gets Gemini Live for conversational AI, and it is claimed to be the first A-series smartphone with on-device voicemail support. Apart from these AI features, the Galaxy A17 5G features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. For photography, it gets a triple camera setup at the back headlined by a 50MP main, a 5MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro lens. On the front, it has a 13MP selfie camera. It packs a 5000mAh battery with 25W fast charging. 

All of these features come at an affordable price of Rs 18,999 for the 6GB RAM and the 12GB storage model.

Apart from this, Samsung also brings several other A-series phones, including the Galaxy A36 5G, Galaxy A56 5G, Galaxy A26 5G, and even more affordable Galaxy A06 5G.
