The Nothing Phone 3 is officially launching on July 1, 2025, which is positioned as a true flagship for the first time by the tech giant. Which means, it is set to have a significant step up from the Phone 2. However, one of the most talked about features of all Nothing Phones is about to end with this upcoming phone – the Glyph Interface. I still remember the first time when Nothing Phone 1 launched, the two most exciting factors which made it stand out in the crowd were transparent back and Glyph interface.  news Also Read: Nothing Phone 3 gets massive Rs 30,000 on Flipkart: Here’s how to save BIG

Now, Nothing’s signature LED light design on the back is all set to bid adieu. A leaked render as well as Nothing’s teaser itself has confirmed its removal, pointing towards a whole new look for the Phone 3. Better aesthetics, cost cutting or a whole new look – whatever may be the reason is behind this decision, fans will surely miss the Glyph interface. But what will be different with the Nothing Phone 3 over the Nothing Phone 2? Have a look.  news Also Read: This Infinix phone borrows a lot from iPhone 17 Pro and Nothing Phone 3

Nothing Phone 3 vs Nothing Phone 2: What to expect

Design Shift

Fans who loved the flashy, interactive Glyph lights might be in for a surprise. The new leaked renders show a clean, redesigned back panel — minus the glowing lights. While it still maintains a semi-transparent design, it appears more subdued. The new rear also hints at the Essential Key, a feature rumoured to offer programmable functionality. news Also Read: No Nothing Phone (4) in 2026, mid-range Phone (4a) coming soon: Carl Pei

Display Getting Better?

Another area getting a serious upgrade is the display. The Nothing Phone 3 is expected to support up to 3000 nits of peak brightness, a major jump from the 1600 nits seen in the Phone 2. This should result in much better visibility, especially under direct sunlight.

Flagship Chipset

Performance-wise, the Phone 3 is expected to ship with either the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip. That’s a major leap from the 8+ Gen 1 on the Phone 2. Alongside this, Nothing is also hinting at deeper AI integration, though we’ll likely hear more about that closer to launch.

Triple Camera Setup Coming?

While the Phone 2 had a dual 50MP setup, the Phone 3 is expected to introduce a triple camera system — with the same 50MP primary and ultrawide lenses, plus a new 50MP telephoto periscope lens offering 3x optical zoom.

Battery and Charging Upgrades

Battery life and charging speed are both seeing improvements. The Phone 3 may come with a 5000mAh battery and support 100W fast charging, compared to the 4700mAh and 45W on Phone 2. However, as with many flagships, the charging brick may be sold separately.

Nothing Phone 3 Expected Price

The Phone 3 is expected to be priced around £800 in the UK, and could land in India at Rs 60,000–Rs 70,000, reflecting its move into true flagship territory. This is a notable jump from the Rs 44,999 starting price of Phone 2.
