Motorola hints at a new slim smartphone launch
Motorola seems to be on the way to bring its next smartphone to the Indian market. The tech giant has recently shared a teaser on X, which shows a phone with a sleek design and a circular camera module at the back. However, the company hasn’t mentioned the model name yet, but if we go by the timing and design cues, it’s most likely pointing to the Moto X70 Air – the same phone that was launched earlier this month in China. So, what do we know about it so far? Read on. Also Read: Moto G67 Power 5G India Launch Set For November 5: All Specs, Features Confirmed
The Moto X70 Air came as an interesting phone when it launched in China for being one of Motorola’s slimmest phones to date. Specifically, it measures under 6mm thick. Despite that, it manages to pack a 4,800mAh battery, which supports both 68W fast charging and 15W wireless charging, all based on China’s variant.
Moreover, suppose the specifications and features remain the same. In that case, this upcoming Motorola phone is expected to pack a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset along with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. For photography, the camera setup could include two 50MP sensors at the back – one primary and one ultra-wide. On the front too, it may feature a 50MP front camera for selfies and video calls. It’s also rated IP68 and IP69 for dust and water resistance.
Motorola has a habit of rebranding its phones for different markets, so there’s a good chance the X70 Air might come to India as the Motorola Edge 70. The design and specifications could stay the same, but the final name and colour options might vary.
There’s no confirmed India launch date yet, but with teasers already rolling out, an announcement doesn’t seem too far away.
In China, the Moto X70 Air is priced under Rs 35,000. If Motorola manages to bring it to India at around the same range, it could find a comfortable spot among other mid-range options.
