The Indian smartphone maker, Lava, has now launched the all-new Lava O2 smartphone in the entry-level smartphone market. The smartphone succeeds the Lava O1, which was launched last year in the country. Some of the highlights of the new phone include a 90Hz screen, dual-rear cameras, and a Unisoc chipset. It also packs a 5,000mAh battery and has fast charging support. Let’s take a look at the phone’s pricing and availability details.

Lava O2 India price, offers, and availability

The Lava O2 is priced at Rs 8,499 for the lone 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. However, as an introductory offer, the phone can be purchased for Rs 500 off – Rs 7,999. It comes in three colour options, namely, Imperial Green, Majestic Purple, and Royal Gold. The first sale of the device is set for March 27  on Amazon and Lava E-Store.

The device competes with the likes of Redmi A3 – Rs 7,999, Infinix Smart  8 Plus – Rs 7,799, Tecno Spark Go 2024 – Rs 7,399, and Samsung Galaxy M04 – Rs 7,700.

Lava O2 specifications

The entry-level smartphone features an AG Glass back design and has dual cameras placed vertically. There’s a punch-hole screen on the front with an HD+ resolution. The screen is sized 6.5 inches and it features a 90Hz refresh rate. It is an LCD panel with a noticeable chin.

The smartphone flaunts two cameras on the rear with a 50MP main lens. Lava claims that it is an AI lens, meaning it processes images to look better upon capturing. The main lens is assisted by an auxiliary lens. Upfront, it has an 8MP camera lens for selfies and video calls. The rear camera of the phone can shoot 1080p videos.

Powering the handset is the Unisoc T616 octa-core processor that is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. Both the RAM and storage are expandable on this one. RAM can be further increased up to 16GB with an additional 8GB of virtual RAM support, which will take up the storage to do so.

In terms of the battery, it is equipped with a 5,000mAh cell and has 18W fast charging support. It runs on Android 13 OS and is confirmed to get the latest Android 14 update soon. The OS is claimed to have no ads or bloatware unlike other phones in this segment. Lava has also promised 2 years of security updates promise. The device has a facial unlock and a side-mounted fingerprint for added security.
