  • Lava is tipped to launch the Lava Agni 2 soon in India.
  • Lava Agni 2 is said to come with MediaTek's Dimensity 1080 SoC.
  • Lava Agni 2 could also have 44W fast charging support.

Lava launched the Lava Agni 5G back in November 2021. The smartphone offered a 90Hz refresh rate display, quad cameras, and 33W fast charging. Now, close to one and half years of its release, the company is said to launch its successor — Lava Agni 2 5G.

The tipster Paras Guglani has shared some key specs of the phone along with its launch timeline with folks at Pricebaba. The Agni 2 smartphone may launch as early as late Q1 or early Q2 of this year.

Lava Agni 2 launch timeline and India price

The Lava Agni 2 smartphone is tipped to launch by mid of March or by April this year. Unfortunately, there’s no information as to its pricing. However, we expect it to be priced at around Rs 20,000 or above considering the chipset.

For comparison, Infinix recently launched its Dimensity 1080-powered Zero 5G 2023 smartphone for Rs 20,000. Realme and Redmi’s phone with the same chipset is priced above Rs 20,000. That said, expect the upcoming Lava phone to be priced similarly.

Lava Agni 2 specifications

The Lava Agni 2 is said to come with a 6.5-inch HD+ display with high refresh rate support. However, unlike some other phones in the same segment, the Agni 2 will have 90Hz refresh rate support instead of 120Hz. It is unclear whether the phone will have an LCD panel or an AMOLED panel. The Agni 5G, though was launched with an IPS LCD screen.

One of the major highlights of the phone will be its processor. The Agni 2 will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It is also said to have a microSD card slot for additional storage.

Furthermore, Lava is said to stack a 5,000mAh battery inside the Agni 2 with an improved fast charging speed. The device may have 44W fast charging as opposed to the 33W support on the existing Agni 5G.
