HMD Pulse phones without Nokia branding launched: Check specs, price

HMD Global has launched its first smartphone series without the Nokia branding. HMD Pulse, Pulse Plus, and Pulse Pro are entry-level devices targeted towards those wanting to spend less on on phone. These new HMD phones have a self-repairability feature, allowing users to repair their phones themselves. Some of the other highlights of the phones include a large high refresh rate display, dual cameras, and a Unisoc chipset. Let’s take a look at the full specs sheet and pricing.

HMD Pulse specifications and features

HMD Pulse series has three phones, namely, Pulse, Pulse Plus, and Pulse Pro. All models come with 4G connectivity, which means, you cannot put a 5G SIM card to get high Internet speeds. Most specs of these phones are the same but they differ in aspects like cameras and battery life.

Starting with the display, the Pulse trio features a 6.67-inch IPS LCD display with an HD+ resolution of 1612 x 720 pixels resolution. The panel has a 600 nits of brightness and a 90Hz refresh rate. It is a punch-hole screen with a 20:9 aspect ratio.

HMD Pulse has a 13MP dual-rear camera system and an 8MP selfie snapper. The HMD Pulse Pro and Pulse Plus have a 50MP dual-rear camera system and a 50MP front camera. All phones allow you to shoot 1080p videos.

A Unisoc T606 chipset powers the smartphone. It has Mali-G67 MP1 GPU for handling graphics tasks. The Pulse model has 4GB/6GB  of RAM with 64GB of internal storage. The other two models have a max RAM and storage configuration of 8GB and 128GB, respectively. There’s a MicroSD card slot for additional storage of up to 256GB.

The trio houses a 5,000mAh battery with 10W fast charging supported on the Pulse. The Pulse Pro and Pulse Plus get 20W fast-changing support. It’s unclear if HMD will ship the charging adapter in the box.

Other features of the phones include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and facial unlock support for added security. It has an IP52 rating for dust and splash resistance. All phones run on Android 14 OS  out of the box. HMD has promised two years of Android updates and three years of security updates.

HMD Pulse price and availability

The Pulse series is available in European markets. HMD Pulse is priced at EUR 140 (roughly Rs 16,000). HMD Pulse Plus and Plus Pro cost EUR 160 (roughly Rs 14,250) and EUR 180 (roughly Rs 12,500).

Unfortunately, there’s no information about the India launch of these phones. However, HMD sells Nokia phones in India so we can also expect to see HMD-branded devices here.
