Aadhar Card is the major government document in India, and it is necessary to keep it up to date. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched a new method and improved updated system to make changes or update your Aadhar Card easily. Now, you can update your personal details like name, address, date of birth, and phone number completely online. This is a faster and secure way to update the Aadhar Card.

The online system of updating the Aadhar Card is the easiest one, and now you no longer need to visit Aadhaar Enrollment Centres for minor updates. The entire process can be digitally handled from home.

Aadhaar Card Update

Making changes to the Aadhar Card required visiting enrollment centres until now. It resulted in long queues and delays, but with the help of the new system, the hassle of visiting the Aadhar Card centre will be eliminated. This initiative from UIDAI will make things convenient and accessible while improving the accuracy of personal data.

Users will be able to modify key details, including their name, address, mobile number, and date of birth, through UIDAI’s Self Service Update Portal (SSUP).

Automatic Verification

One of the major improvements is the introduction of an automatic verification process. As soon as you submit your correction request, your details will be sent for cross-checking via linked government databases such as PAN, passport, driving license, birth certificate, or ration card. This will reduce manual intervention and, hence, will prevent mismatched information and data entries.

Aadhaar-PAN Linking Deadline Extended

The government has further given an extension of the deadline to connect Aadhaar with PAN till 31 December 2025. The inability to make this linking will make the PAN cards ineffective as of January 1, 2026.

In addition, new PAN holders have to now check their identity through Aadhaar authentication. KYC processes have also become more affordable and paperless because financial institutions have utilized quicker KYC systems and verified them using Aadhaar OTP, video KYC, or face-to-face verification.
