JioGames signs a 10-year deal with Gamestream to launch a cloud gaming service in India

JioGames, Reliance Jio’s gaming service, has teamed up with Gamestream, a white label cloud gaming service to annuonce a 10-year strategic partnership. Under this partnership, the two firms are launching JioGamesCloud, a cloud gaming platform that will allow console-like gaming across devices. As per the press release, it will allow “Indians with unlimited access to cloud gaming anywhere, anytime”.

As per the company, the newly announced cloud gaming service is now live in its public beta. Right now, it is now available for free for a limited period of time. This service will be available across Jio Set Top Box, Android Smartphones and select web browsers.

For the unversed, JioGames is currently available across multiple devices like smartphones, feature phones, and home gaming via a set-top box. The service offers cloud gaming, livestreaming, esports opportunities and solutions enabling gaming powered by cloud technology.

“This gaming-led partnership between Ubitus and JioGames cloud gaming is set to provide Indian users access to a wonderful selection of games from Ubitus’ diverse library and help them gain a truly immersive cloud gaming experience”, said Mr. Kiran Thomas, Chief Executive Officer, Jio Platforms Limited.

As per an official statement by Wesley Kuo, Ubitus CEO, ‘Ubitus is thrilled to showcase the power of Jio’s advanced 5G network with latency and bandwidth demanding AAA cloud games. Jio’s 5G and Cloud Game service should benefit the majority of Indian gamers to enjoy popular titles without upgrading their playing devices’.
