Google CEO Sundar Pichai has opened the doors for everyone to try Veo 3, the company’s most advanced AI-powered video creation tool — completely free, but only for a limited time. Normally locked behind the Gemini AI Pro subscription (Rs 1,999/month in India), Veo 3 is available to all users this weekend without restrictions. The move is part of Google’s push to showcase Veo 3’s creative potential, hoping that once users get a taste of its cinematic abilities, they’ll want to keep using it even after the free window ends. First unveiled at Google I/O 2025, Veo 3 is Google’s most ambitious video model yet. Unlike other AI video tools, Veo 3 not only generates visuals but also synchronised audio — everything from dialogue and ambient sound to background music. That means you don’t just get moving pictures, you get short films complete with soundscapes.
The tool can create animated shorts, cinematic storyboards, or even game-like cutscenes. In India, Google is offering the Veo 3 Fast model, which is optimised for quicker results. It produces 8-second clips at up to 720p resolution — perfect for quick experiments, though slightly lower in quality than the standard version.
If you’re curious to try it out, here’s how you can generate videos this weekend:
The offer is strictly time-bound. Free access runs only until 10:30 a.m. IST on Monday (10 p.m. PT Sunday). After that, Veo 3 will return to its paid AI Pro tier. Also, the free model generates shorter, 720p clips rather than the full cinematic output available to subscribers.
Still, this is the first time Google has made Veo 3 open to all, and Pichai hinted that user feedback from this trial could shape future updates. So, if you’ve ever wanted to direct a mini-movie without cameras or a crew, now’s your chance to let AI bring your imagination to life.
