Under the hood, they are said to run on Google’s Gemini 5 AI and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 Gen-1 chipset. In simple words, you might be able to talk to your glasses, ask questions, or get quick health insights while on the move.
Well, we have already seen several smart glasses with features that are obvious to guess. However, the biggest highlight of the Lenskart glasses is the UPI support. The smart glasses will reportedly let you scan QR codes through the lenses and confirm payments using voice commands or simple gestures. You could even check your transaction history or use AI prompts for quick payments, all without the need to take your phone out.
While global players like Meta and Amazon already have their versions of smart glasses, but Lenskart seems to be focusing on a more India-first and affordable-premium approach.
Of course, a few questions remain unanswered for now. How will it handle data privacy? Will it be comfortable enough for everyday use? And how much will it actually cost? For now, Lenskart’s entry into AI eyewear is a big step for Indian users, especially if it comes at an affordable range.
