In addition to the existing movies, web-series, and TV shows, Amazon Prime Video is said to offer free 24×7 live news channels inside the app without the need for any additional subscription. Prime Video now includes a dedicated News tab right on the homepage (in the US regions for now). All you have to do is tap once, and you can switch to live news broadcasting instantly. That means no add-ons, no separate subscriptions, and no juggling between apps to watch the latest news. Amazon says the feature will reach all US-based Prime subscribers by the end of December 2025. It seems like, instead of just an entertainment hub, Amazon wants Prime Video to become a complete media hub. It is set to offer not just on-demand movies and originals, but also daily news – something you typically get from cable TV or standalone news apps.

Amazon hasn’t confirmed a rollout timeline for India or other markets yet. But considering the huge Prime user base here in India and other countries, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the feature expand internationally later. One thing to watch closely will be how this fits into Amazon’s recent changes, including more device restrictions and increasing ad-supported content globally. This new free booster is a strong incentive, but Amazon may adjust features over time based on engagement and regional demand.
