Vi, previously known as Vodafone Idea, constantly pushes out new tariff plans to prevent the loss of subscribers to rival telecom companies. That is because while Airtel and Reliance Jio offer 5G services in most parts of the country, the cash-strapped Vi has yet to roll out its 5G network commercially. By offering more benefits at aggressive prices, Vi is hoping to undercut its rivals as much as it can. The latest change in the prepaid tariff plans is a part of that strategy. Vi has increased the data benefits available under the Rs 49 prepaid recharge plan, which was launched initially about a year back. news Also Read: Vodafone 5G Officially Launches In Kolkata: Check Plans, Availability, And Key Details

Vi Rs 49 recharge plan

The subscriber of the Rs 49 prepaid recharge plan will get a whopping 20GB of 4G data, as compared with the previous offering of just 6GB. That is more than thrice the previous data cap at no additional cost. Recharging your number with this plan will grant 20GB over and above what the customer gets as part of the base plan. That also means that the customer needs to have a base plan to be able to recharge with the Rs 49 plan. While the benefit sounds exciting for users who want a large amount of data, the validity may come as a surprise. The Vi Rs 49 recharge plan is valid only for a day. That means the plan expires before midnight, irrespective of the time you buy it. The ideal thing would be to buy the Rs 49 plan right after midnight to make maximum use. This plan also does not come with voice and SMS benefits. news Also Read: Jio, Airtel Add Over 4 Lakh Users In July; Vodafone-Idea, BSNL See Decline: TRAI

How to recharge

The new Rs 49 recharge plan is available to subscribe from Vi’s platform and third-party platforms. However, third-party platforms such as PhonePe and Paytm ask for an additional fee when you make recharges. To avoid paying platform fees, it is better to go for either Vi’s website or the MyVi app, available on both Android and iOS. The plan will be activated on your number as soon as you recharge it with the Rs 49 plan, crediting it with 20GB of data instantly. news Also Read: Will GTA 6 Trailer 3 Arrive This December?
