
Reliance Industries’ telecom company, Jio, has been steadily expanding its 5G network in various cities across the country. Today, the company announced that it is introducing its True 5G network in Uttarakhand starting from Dehradun. With this update, Jio users in Dehradun will be able experience unlimited data at up to 1 Gbps speeds at no additional cost.
“This launch is an important milestone for Uttarakhand and its people, who will benefit immensely from 5G services. Jio has always been at the forefront, especially when it comes to providing mobile and data connectivity in the state,” Uttarakhand Chief Minister, Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami said on the occasion.
In addition to introducing its 5G services in Uttarakhand, the company also announced that it was making an additional investment of Rs 650 crores for deploying it stand-alone 5G network in the state. This is in addition to the investment of Rs 4,950 crores that the company has already made in installing 5G infrastructure in the state.
With this, Jio’s True 5G network is now available in 94 cities across the country.

It is worth noting that Jio’s 5G services are available at no additional cost for Jio’s 4G subscribers. However, users need to recharge their phone numbers with a plan of Rs 239 to access the company’s 5G services. Additionally, users don’t need to change their 4G SIM cards to access Jio’s True 5G network in the cities where it is available. The company says that its 4G SIM cards are 5G enabled and so users don’t need to change their SIM cards.
Jio’s 4G subscribers can click on Jio Welcome Offer banner in the MyJio app in the cities where the service is available to access 5G network on their devices.
