Airtel offering 84 days of free Netflix with Rs 1,499 plan

Airtel has introduced a new prepaid recharge plan with complimentary Netflix membership. The new plan has basic benefits, such as unlimited voice calls, daily data with access to unlimited 5G data for eligible customers, and other benefits, but the highlighted offering is access to Netflix without additional charges.

The new plan costs Rs 1,499 and allows users 3GB of daily data, unlimited voice calls, and 100 SMS per day — all valid for 84 days. The total 4G data benefit is 252GB, but if you are an eligible user, you will have access to unlimited 5G internet through the Airtel Thanks app. Customers looking for a long-term plan with a bevvy of features can choose the Rs 1,499 plan. The prepaid recharge plan has benefits such as Apollo 24|7 Circle subscription, free caller tunes (called Airtel Hellotunes), and access to Wynk Music Premium.

Netflix membership

One of the complimentary benefits available to customers as part of the Airtel Rs 1,499 plan is Netflix membership. However, customers should take note that this will be the Netflix Basic plan, which allows streaming on two supported devices at a time in HD quality without advertisements. Since Airtel’s Rs 1,499 plan offers unlimited 5G internet, customers can maximise their streaming experience without worrying about data exhaustion for as long as they are within a 5G network.

There is no information on whether customers can upgrade to a better plan after receiving the Basic plan on their Airtel number. However, previous recharge plans offering complimentary Netflix subscriptions allow customers to upgrade to a better plan by paying the difference amount.

How to claim Netflix membership

After recharging your number with the Rs 1,499 plan, open the Airtel Thanks app and go to the ‘Discover Thanks Benefits’ section. You will see the Netflix membership card available for you with all the benefits listed on it. Tap the ‘Claim’ button and then follow the on-screen instructions to activate the free membership on your number. The Netflix subscription will be tied to the Airtel number and will last 84 days.
