– Let’s talk about the design first. The Realme GT 6T features a plastic body with a Nano-Mirror design. This Nano-Mirror design combines matte metal anodizing texture with metal mirror texture giving the back and the overall design a metal finish. Despite the plastic body, the phone feels quite premium in hands. What adds to the charm, or the premium-ness is its curved glass display. The overall effect of this combination is that the phone looks and feels sleek. It’s also light in weight, which makes it easier to use for a prolonged period of time. That said, the phone is a fingerprint magnet. Thankfully, Realme ships a cover inside to help you with that problem. Also Read: Is OnePlus Working On A Turbo Series? – Now, let’s talk about the display. The display is definitely one of the strong suites of the Realme GT 6T 5G. The phone offers a bright display that doesn’t disappoint even under the ruthless Delhi sun. Besides the brightness, it’s the sharpness and vibrancy of the colours that make the display a winner. During my time with the phone, I watched several movies including Crazy Rich Asians and The Out-Laws on Netflix and I must say that the colours were bright and punchy, which enhanced the entire movie-watching experience. Additionally, the phone comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor, which is just as snappy in terms of unlocking the devices as it is in terms of the viewing experience.
– Next in line is the performance. The Realme GT 6T, as you must have seen in the table above, is powered by the 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3. In fact, it is the first phone in the country to get this chipset. What this chipset does is that it ensures that the phone is able to handle almost every situation that you throw at it with ease. This means that it doesn’t slow down or stop working even when you overload it with tasks or in other words when you multitask. And the dedicated vapour cooling chamber ensures that it beats the heat even during peak performance levels.
On the software front, the Realme GT 6T runs Android 14-based Realme UI 5.0. Realme has also promised to provide three years of OS updates and four years of security updates to the users. The overall experience is quite smooth and fluid. However, you do get a lot of bloatware, which is a bit of a letdown.
– Now comes the camera. The Realme GT 6T offers a decent camera performance if not an exceptional one. The 50MP camera produces sharp images with ample details and accurate colours, especially in the daylight conditions. The optical image stabalisation feature ensures that you get blur-free images even if your shooting conditions are not all that conducive. This performance extends even to images captured in low-light conditions. The 8MP camera, on the other hand, could use some improvement as it lacks details and sharpness. The front-facing camera offers a mix-bag of performance. While it captures the colour right, it misses out on the details, especially around the edges.
– Lastly, the battery. This is another area where this phone shines out. During day-to-day usage, which for a person like me includes a lot of social media time and 2-3 hours of OTT watching time, the phone easily lasts for a little over a day. This usage will of course vary with the individual usage. Additionally, unlike a lot of other smartphone makers, Realme hasn’t ditched the charger from the box, which is definitely a good thing. Another good thing about the Realme GT 6T 5G is that it just takes around 30 minutes to charge the phone completely. This means that even if you are in a hurry, you just need 30 minutes to juice it up.
To sum it up, the Realme GT 6T 5G is a good companion to have. The phone looks premium, it has a bright and vibrant display and it offers a long-battery life that can be charged completely in half-an-hour. Sure, there are areas where it could do better, especially when it comes to the ultra-wide-angle camera and the front-facing camera, but that’s not a deal breaker. Give it the right set of conditions and it won’t disappoint you. So, if you are looking for a phone around Rs 30,000, the Realme GT 6T is definitely worth considering.
