Apple’s new iPhone 17 Pro lineup is again in the spotlight – this time, for an unusual reason. Several users have started sharing photos online showing their brand-new iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max units changing colour within days of use. news Also Read: Apple’s First Foldable iPhone May Now Arrive In 2027: Here’s Why

Users say Cosmic Orange units are turning pink

The issue first surfaced on Reddit (via Tom’s Guide), where several owners of the iPhone 17 Pro Max posted photos of their Cosmic Orange devices displaying an unexpected pink tint. Most of the discoloration happened along the aluminium frame, while the matte glass back was unaffected. Some photos show an uneven fade, making the once-vibrant orange finish look closer to rose gold. news Also Read: iPhone 17 Pro Is Great, But iPhone 18 Pro’s Variable Aperture Camera Sounds Even Better

Interestingly, the issue doesn’t seem exclusive to the orange model. A user on the MacRumors Forums said they had a similar issue with the Deep Blue model, where there was a slight discoloration along the camera bar. However, it’s unclear what caused the issue, with a few users theorising it was from heat or UV exposure.

Reports spreading across platforms

What began as isolated reports has spread across Reddit, Facebook, and TikTok. Many owners are reporting that they saw the discoloration after only a week of having the phones, but there also are no visible signs of scratches or damage. One user claimed the discoloration appeared after briefly keeping the phone in direct sunlight, though others say theirs changed colour while indoors.

Apple yet to respond

As of now, Apple hasn’t issued a statement regarding the problem. Since the iPhone 17 Pro lineup is still under warranty, affected users are being advised to contact Apple Support for inspection or replacement.

This year’s iPhone 17 Pro marks Apple’s return to an aluminium frame after using titanium in previous Pro models. The design also features a redesigned camera plateau and fresh colour options – including the new Cosmic Orange and Deep Blue finishes – which now appear to be at the center of this growing concern.
