Looks like Samsung’s One UI 8 update is having a bit of a bumpy ride. The rollout, which started with much excitement for Galaxy users, has now been paused yet again. And this time, it’s the Galaxy S23 series feeling the impact. Samsung had begun pushing out its Android 16-based One UI 8 update to the Galaxy S23 lineup just a couple of weeks ago. But reports now suggest that the company has temporarily halted the rollout. Also Read: Samsung’s First AI Glasses To Be Made In Collaboration With Gentle Monster And Warby Parker
What’s interesting is that this isn’t the first time. The same thing happened with the Galaxy S24 and even the older S22 series – both had their updates pulled mid-rollout. While the S22’s update has reportedly resumed in parts, the S23 series seems to be stuck waiting for the fix. Also Read: 8 Best Phones For Photography Lovers Under Rs 30,000 With Over 50MP Cameras
As of now, Samsung hasn’t shared an official reason behind the latest pause. But looking at previous rollouts, it’s likely due to some late-stage bugs or stability issues that popped up as more devices received the update.
To be fair, Samsung has built a strong reputation for timely Android updates over the last few years – often coming second only to Google. But when rollouts get paused multiple times across flagships, it does raise eyebrows.
That said, this isn’t necessarily bad news. A paused update often means Samsung caught something serious before it reached millions of users. Imagine dealing with a battery drain issue or an app crash spree right after updating – not exactly fun. So while the delay might be annoying, it’s probably saving users from much bigger problems down the line.
If you’re a Galaxy S23 or S24 owner waiting for the update, the best thing to do right now is – nothing! Just wait it out. Samsung will likely resume the rollout once the issues are sorted, and ideally, with a much smoother version of One UI 8. This might just be a small bump in the road for Samsung, but it’s a reminder that even major brands can hit a snag or two while updating millions of devices at once.
