OnePlus seems to be gearing up for multiple smartphone launches expected in China. While the company is expected to unveil the OnePlus 15 and Ace 6 this month, a new device reportedly called the OnePlus Turbo is said to be in development. Though the company hasn’t confirmed its existence yet, new details from a reliable source in China shed light on what to expect from this mysterious model. Also Read: Is OnePlus exiting India? According to a Weibo post by tipster Digital Chat Station, OnePlus is testing three smartphones with slightly different battery capacities. The leak mentions models featuring 7,300mAh, 7,650mAh, and 7,800mAh battery units. Based on earlier reports, the OnePlus 15 is expected to carry the 7,300mAh battery, the Ace 6 may get the 7,800mAh unit, and the new OnePlus Turbo could sit in between with a 7,650mAh battery. Despite the difference in battery size, all three models are said to support 100W wired fast charging. Also Read: OnePlus N6 under fire over marketing claims: Here’s what happened
DCS also claimed that the three phones will feature 1.5K resolution displays with a 165Hz refresh rate. OnePlus has already confirmed the same refresh rate for the OnePlus 15, suggesting the Turbo could share similar display specs.
Internally, the OnePlus 15 and Ace 6 are both expected to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The OnePlus Turbo, however, could debut with the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor – a slightly different version of Qualcomm’s latest flagship chip. Interestingly, OnePlus has previously announced plans to be the first brand to launch a smartphone with this particular chipset, which aligns with the timing of this leak.
While details remain unofficial, the OnePlus Turbo could become the company’s new sub-flagship option – balancing high-end performance with an even bigger battery. We can expect more official teasers from OnePlus in the coming days as the rumoured launch window draws near.
