OnePlus may have launched the OnePlus 15 as its new flagship in India, but that wasn’t the only phone grabbing attention at the event. The tech giant has quietly hinted at the arrival of the OnePlus 15R, giving a clear sign that the next R-series phone is right around the corner. However, it must be noted that the teaser was brief, and OnePlus hasn’t confirmed specs or pricing yet, but early clues and leaks paint a pretty good picture of what we can expect. While OnePlus hasn’t officially announced the launch date, industry reports and tipster Yogesh Brar suggest that the OnePlus 15R could launch in India by mid-December. Globally, it’s expected to roll out as early as next month. Also Read: OnePlus 15 Launched In India As First Phone To Bring Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5: Check Price, Specs, More
Pricing is likely to be close to the OnePlus 13R’s launch price of Rs 42,999 for the 12GB + 256GB model. Also Read: From iPhone 17 To Galaxy S25: 6 Phones To Buy Instead Of OnePlus 15
Most leaks point in one direction – the OnePlus 15R will probably be a global version of the OnePlus Ace 6, which launched recently in China. If that’s true, the 15R could offer the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and may get up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. It may feature a 6.83-inch flat AMOLED display (1.5K resolution, up to 165Hz refresh rate) with up to 5,000 nits peak brightness.
The OnePlus 15R is likely to carry a 50MP main camera with OIS, paired with an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. On the front, a 16MP selfie camera may handle video calls and selfies. Based on the leaks, the Ace 6 packs a 7,800mAh battery with 120W fast charging, and the same setup is expected on the 15R. Wireless charging, however, will likely remain absent. The phone is also expected to ship with OxygenOS 16 (based on Android 16) for global markets.
