Lava has officially started teasing the launch of its next smartphone, the Agni 4. The teaser image confirms a November launch timeline and offers the first look at the design. It shows a horizontal rear camera module along with a speaker grille on top. While the teaser shows the Agni 4 in a black option, it seems a white colour should also be offered based on leaks. While the company hasn’t revealed complete specifications, some details from earlier leaks give some insight. It’s said that the Agni 4 will feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a full-HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It may also come with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Powering the phone could be MediaTek’s Dimensity 8350 chipset, paired with a massive 7,000mAh battery. If this information holds, the Agni 4 will be one of the very few smartphones in this segment to ship with this battery size.
On the rear, the Agni 4 is reported to have a dual 50MP camera setup. Another feature could be the use of UFS 4.0 storage, which is typically found on much high-end devices and could give it an advantage on speed and performance.
Last year’s Agni 3 had standout features like a rear-facing secondary display and an Action button that you could customise. However, we will have to wait to see if those unique features return with the Agni 4.
According to reports, Lava is likely to price the Agni 4 under Rs 25,000 in India. With that positioning, it will be competing against brands like Realme, iQOO, and OnePlus in the mid-range market.
With its large battery, AMOLED display, and modern design, the Lava Agni 4 could be one of Lava’s strongest entries in the segment when it goes official this November.
