Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 17 series in September, and this time, we might see a completely new addition to the lineup – the iPhone 17 Air. Rumoured to replace the Plus model, the Air is said to focus on a sleeker, thinner design. And now, a new hands-on video has surfaced online, which gives us a closer look at what could be one of its standout colour options, Sky Blue. news Also Read: Apple iPad Pro Launched In India With New M5 Chip, Ultra Retina XDR Display: Price, Specs

Tipster Majin Bu recently posted a short clip of an iPhone 17 Air dummy unit in the Sky Blue finish on X (formerly Twitter). If you remember, then you will find that the shade looks similar to the Sky Blue seen on the 2025 MacBook Air with the M4 chip. If this colour makes it to the final release, it could mean that Apple is moving away from its recent preference for muted tones. news Also Read: Apple Launches 14-inch MacBook Pro With M5 Chip And Up To 24-Hour Battery Life: Check Price And Availability

iPhone 17 Air Design, Specs and Size (Expected)

From the back, the dummy unit shows a single rear camera lens set inside a pill-shaped island. On the right, there’s a power button and another flush button below it, likely the camera control button first seen in the iPhone 16 series. The left side appears to house volume rockers and an Action Button above them. The phone is expected to be available in four colour options – Black, Light Blue (possibly Sky Blue), Light Gold, and White.

The dummy doesn’t reveal the front, but earlier reports suggest a 6.6-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Leaks hint that the iPhone 17 Air could be thinner than even the Galaxy S25 Edge, possibly measuring around 5.5mm. It may run on Apple’s A19 chip, pack a 2,800mAh battery, and sport a single 48MP rear camera with a 24MP front camera. In terms of size, it could slot between the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max, fuelling speculation that it’s replacing the Plus variant.

iPhone 17 Launch Date (Expected)

The iPhone 17 series is expected to debut at Apple’s September 9 event. Until then, all we have are leaks, rumours, and dummy unit sightings, but if this Sky Blue really makes it, it could become one of the more eye-catching options in the lineup.
