Honor has launched a new budget 5G smartphone – the Honor Play 70 Plus – in China. The phone joins the Honor Play lineup in the home country. It packs a massive 7,000mAh battery and features a IP65 rated build for dust and water resistance. The Honor Play 70 Plus sports a 6.77-inch LCD display with an HD+ (720 x 1,610 pixels) resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 700 nits peak brightness. The screen comes with an Aluminosilicate glass protection. The Play 70 Plus is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset paired with an Adreno 619 GPU. It offers up to 12GB RAM and up to 512GB onboard storage. The phone is IP65 rated for dust and water resistance. For photography, the Honor Play 70 Plus features a single 50MP rear camera. On the front, it houses a 5MP selfie camera in the punch-hole cutout. The rear cameras also support AI-based features like AI Eliminate, AI Expand Image, and Eye Correction. For connectivity, the Play 70 Plus supports Wi-Fi, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.1. It also features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a dedicated AI button, dual stereo speakers with Histen 7.3 sound. For durability, the Honor Play 70 Plus is certified for Gold Label five-star drop resistance.

The Honor Play 70 Plus runs on Android 15-based Magic OS 9.0 out of the box.

The Honor Play 70 Plus is available in three configurations – 8GB RAM + 256GB storage priced at CNY 1,199 (approx. Rs 14,500), 12GB RAM + 256GB storage priced at CNY 1,399 (approx. Rs 17,000), and 12GB RAM + 512GB option at CNY 1,599 (approx. Rs 19,400). The phone comes in four colour options – Black, Blue, Pink, and White. The Play 70 Plus will go on sale in China starting from August 8.
