Google Pixel 8a full specifications surfaced before launch in May

As we near the Google Pixel 8a launch, we get more details about the phone. This time, the full specs sheet of the smartphone along with its price range has been leaked. This will be an interesting device as it will bring some notable improvements over its predecessor. Google Pixel 8a specifications

According to the tipster Yogesh Brar, the Google Pixel 8a will feature a 6.1-inch OLED display with an FHD+ resolution. Finally, we will get to see a truly high-refresh rate screen on an affordable Pixel. The display is said to have a 120Hz refresh rate support, improved over the 90Hz screen on the Pixel 7a. The smartphone is tipped to be powered by a 4nm Tensor G3 chipset. Again, this will be a step up over the 6nm Tensor G2 in the Pixel 7a. The existing Pixel 8 and 8 Pro have the same chipset. While there will be a chipset upgrade, don’t expect to game on it. That’s because Tensor isn’t really meant for gaming and has had certain throttling issues, which we saw in the existing Pixel 8 phones.

Moving to the cameras, the device is said to flaunt a dual-rear camera system with a 64MP main lens and a 13MP ultrawide sensor. Upfront, it may have a 13MP selfie snapper. Since it’s a Pixel, expect good photos, despite the unchanged camera system over the predecessor.

In terms of the battery, the Pixel 8a may have a bigger battery. It is tipped to pack a 4,500mAh cell with support for a faster 27W charging. The 7a houses a 4,385mAh battery and 18W fast charging support. The device will run on Android 14 OS out of the box.

Google Pixel 8a price range

The Pixel 8a may launch for $500-550, which roughly translates to Rs 41,600- 45,800. There’s no word on the India price, but we expect it to be pricier here. The Google Pixel 7a was launched for Rs 43,999. Given the upgrades in the Pixel 8a, we may see a price increase. However, we can’t conclude anything yet.

The phone’s launch date hasn’t been revealed, but like last year, it is anticipated to show up at the Google I/O event. Google I/O 2024 is scheduled for May 14.
