Instagram started as a photo-sharing app, but over the past few years, it has shifted its focus to short-form videos, also called Reels. Millions of users in India and elsewhere post Reels on various topics. While the ability to share Reels directly with contacts is most preferred, it works only for Instagram users. For a long time, there was no way to share videos with people who do not use Instagram. However, Instagram has added an option to allow video downloads, making sending Reels outside of Instagram easier. Alternatively, there are third-party downloading apps that offer a similar functionality.
— Open Instagram on your Android or iOS device and go to the video you want to download.
— Now, tap the three dots in the top right corner of the video post, followed by a tap on “Copy Link” from the menu.
— On your phone or PC, open a web browser and visit a third-party Instagram video downloader website, such as Savefrom.net or FastDL.
— Paste the copied link into the text field and tap/click the button next to it. It may say “Download” on most apps.
— The website may ask you to choose the video download quality. Choose the one you want and then click “Download” again.
— On Instagram, find the video you want to download.
— If you want to download a video from your account, tap the three dots in the top right corner of the post and then select “Save to Camera Roll.”
— For videos from public accounts, tap the three dots in the bottom right corner of the video, and then choose “Save Video.”
An important thing to remember is that downloading from private Instagram accounts is not possible. If you are downloading a video from a public account, consider its copyright and ensure you have permission from the creator to download and share the video. Instagram also does not let you download videos uploaded as posts on the platform.
