PS5 update lets you easily join your friend's multiplayer game: Here's how

Sony has pushed a new update that makes joining your friends multiplayer easier on PS5. The system update creates a sharable link within the app that can be forwarded to let others join your multiplayer game. This comes two months after the feature was first announced. Let’s see how you can use the feature.

Here’s how to use the new invitation link feature on PS5

The latest update for the Play Station 5 has made it easier for users to share an invite link to anyone who’s interested in joining the multiplayer game. Users can either share a link or a QR code and they can share those with their friends or even strangers.

Interestingly, the link or the QR won’t be time-sensitive. So you can send a link to strangers or friends and they can join even after 30 minutes of first sharing the link, provided that you are still playing the game.

This works through the app, let’s see how you can use the new feature in the latest update.

Step 1: After updating, you can open the multiplayer game that you want to play and want others to join in.

Step 2: Once you are in the game, pull out your phone and open the PlayStation app. If you do now have the app, you must install it as it’s very useful.

Step 3: You should see the game you are currently playing once you open the app. Just tap on the “Invite Players” icon and a window should pop up on your phone.

Step 4: Copy the link and share it with your friends. You can also directly send it through third-party apps like Discord.

Step 5: Your friend can join the game by clicking on the link.

That’s how you can easily invite players to your multiplayer game on PS5. This eliminates the need to use codes.

Apart from this, the update also brings some other useful features. It lets you access the Game Help actions with voice commands. To bring up the Game Help action, you can simply say “Show Game Help” and you should see the actions. But do note that this feature is available in the US and UK for now. It’s for those with PlayStation Network accounts. However, we can expect it to be available in other regions soon.
