The government-approved DigiLocker app is a cloud-based app that allows users to store their important documents online. DigiLocker-issued documents are legally valid as per the IT Act, 2000. This means you do not have to carry your physical certificates such as Aadhaar, Driving license, PAN card, and others with you if you have these documents stored on Digilocker. Step 5: Tap on the first option. Now, enter your name, DOB, and Driving License no. These details will vary for different documents.
Step 6: Tap on Get Document and your Driving License should be visible. Tap on it and store it.
By following this process, you can store all issued documents on DigiLocker.
Now, to upload a physical document’s copy on DigiLocker, follow the process below.
Step 1: Open the DigiLocker app and be on the home screen.
Step 2: Tap on the Drive, which is located in the DigiLocker Utility section.
Step 3: Tap on New.
Step 4: Tap on Upload File.
Step 5: If you have the document saved as a PDF file on your phone, select Choose Files. If you have a photo in the gallery, select Choose Photo. If you want to click a photo of a document and store it, select Open Camera.
Step 6: Now, select the file or photo and confirm. Or click a picture of the document and confirm.
Now, your document/photo should be stored on DigiLocker. However, it is worth noting that only issued documents are valid. This means uploading a picture of a document may not be accepted everywhere. That said, this method is only useful if you want to keep all your documents in one place. Use the first method to store issued documents as they will be acceptable.
That’s how easily you can store documents on DigiLocker.
