It’s 2024 and if you do not have a Gmail account, it’s time to create one. Or, maybe you have one already but want to create one more. Well, the process of creating a Gmail account has changed slightly so you indeed need a guide like this one. In this guide, we will show you how you can create Gmail account and set it up to start sending and receiving emails. Having said that, let’s see the process without wasting any further time.
Step 1: Open Google’s official Gmail website that lets you sign in or create an account. You can click here to visit the Gmail portal.
Step 2: Once you are on the website, tap on Create an account.
Step 3: Tap on the ‘For my personal use’ option.
Step 4: You should now be on a new page that lets you start the process of creating a Gmail account. On the same page, enter your first name and last name, and tap on Next.
Step 5: Enter your date of birth, month, and year. Then, enter your gender. Interestingly, Google now lets users add a custom gender, reminding us that it’s 2024. Once you fill in all the details, tap on Next.
Step 6: Enter username. Make sure to type and choose the best username as you’ll probably use it all your life. Tap on Next after you have entered the username.
Step 7: Enter a password twice. Make sure to create a strong password as it may keep hackers away from your account.
Step 8: Once you fill in all the details, all you need to do is verify yourself with a phone number. Google asks for a phone number so it knows that you are a real person and not a robot.
Step 9: After you enter your phone number, tap on next, and get your number verified. Once this process is done, your new Gmail account should be ready.
Once you have a Gmail account, you can set it up by personalizing it to your preference. So you can choose the density of the layout by tapping on the Settings button in the upper right corner of Gmail. You can choose between Default, Comfortable, and Compact. Further, you can select a theme, reading panel, and other styles.
That’s how you create Gmail account in 2024 and set it up as per your preference.
