Star Wars Outlaws is the first open-world Star Wars game: Everything you need to know

Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws is one of the much-awaited games of this year. For Star Wars fanatics, this one will be a treat. The game is set to release later this year, and it dropped a full 2-minute 45-second trailer on YouTube. If you are excited and can’t wait to play the game, here’s everything you need to know before the game arrives.

Star Wars Outlaws launch date and pre-purchase details

Star Wars Outlaws will be released four months from now on August 30th, 2024. It is now available for pre-purchase on Epic Games. The base game is priced at Rs 4,899 and the Gold Edition posts Rs 7,699. The Star Wars Outlaws Ultimate Edition is priced at Rs 8,999, making it one of the priciest games launched in recent times.

Pre-purchase customers of the Gold and Ultimate Editions will be able to play the title 3 days before its release. Also, they will get a season pass and a couple of other perks. You can pre-purchase all editions right now. However, we’d be hesitating to do so, after all,  Ubisoft hasn’t had a decent track record of delivering games right at launch.

Upon release, the game will be available for playing on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Star Wars Outlaws: What to expect

The trailer of the game gives us an idea of what to expect from the upcoming title. Star Wars Outlaws will be the first open-world Star Wars game. That said, it will have an expansive world set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

The game will have Zerek Besh, a crime family engaged in underworld activities. They also had an influence over groups like Hutts and Crimson Dawn – a crime syndicate. The game will have Kay Vess as the protagonist. Other confirmed characters in the game will be Nix, ND-5, Jaylen Vras, and Silro.

Apart from this, the graphics appear to be decent enough. We are excited to see what the gameplay will look like when it arrives. However, we have our hopes for this one which we expect Ubisoft doesn’t shatter. Its recent open-world title Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was not accepted well initially by critics due to several bugs.
