According to Capcom, Resident Evil Requiem blends psychological horror and high-octane action, pushing the boundaries of survival gameplay with cutting-edge visuals and emotional storytelling. From lifelike facial animations and high-fidelity sweat droplets to realistic skin textures, Capcom is promising a level of realism that’s designed to make your skin crawl. These new graphics, combined with the story, will make the horror feel even scarier. Capcom referred to this as a new era of survival horror, which clearly shows they’re gearing up for this to be one of the best titles in the franchise. There’s more to Grace than meets the eye. She is the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft, the journalist turned survivor featured in Resident Evil Outbreak, who was tragically murdered at the Remwood Hotel. Her personal connection adds emotional depth and could tie directly into the game’s darker narrative threads.
Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil Requiem will be playable at Gamescom 2025. Fans will get their first hands-on look at the horror game. With Resident Evil Village (2021) being the last mainline title, and this one marking a return to the roots of the franchise, fans can expect a fresh but familiar blend of story, tension, and terrifying combat.
Capcom says more details including enemies, weapons, and expanded lore will be revealed throughout the year. The early teaser and powerful debut trailer clearly showed that Requiem is shaping up to be one of the most thrilling Resident Evil titles yet. With a return to the shadows of Raccoon City, we might even see the comeback of some classic locations as well.
Resident Evil Requiem is set to launch on February 27, 2026 and will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox.
