PUBG players, there’s a surprise for you. One that you waited for while and it’s finally here. We are talking about the Erangel Classic map. Yes, the OG Erangel is coming back to the game soon. Players will be able to experience the nostalgia of stealing weapons from the bench, older recoil for guns, and the aged in-match clock UI. Let’s see when the classic map is coming and how you can play it once it arrives.
Although the Erangel Classic is coming back, it will stay for a short period of time. PC Players will be able to play on the classic map between May 14 and May 28. Those on a console can experience the map between May 23 and June 6. Erangel Classic will replace the current Erangel map in the said period.
We are going home.

The game makers are making some improvements to the classic map as well. Starting with the game environment. The OG map will bring back the gloomy and melancholic weather. Players will be able to experience clear skies alongside, cloudy, foggy, and rainy weather.
Those who had played PUBG in the initial days would know that in the original Erangel map, there was an area with benches full of weapons. Players were able to grab them on the starting island to begin their game. Now, the OG map is bringing Bench weapons to the same place on the island. So, players can rush to the starting island and grab these weapons before the supply runs dry.
What’s more, is that the recoil of the guns has also been reduced. Although it’s not an exact replica, it’s almost similar to the early PUBG days, as hinted by the PUBG blog. Further, players will also be able to get the Tommy Gun in the Care Package.
While you roam on the map, you’ll also see thrown clothes and helmets lying around the ground like before. Also, it will seemingly be harder to knock down enemies like before.
Other than this, players will see the vintage world map, minimap, and match start timer. They also see the older fonts and graphics to reminisce about the older times.
More details about the classic map should be revealed on May 13. That’s when we can expect to see the patch notes, a day before the release of the map on PC.
