Netflix has taken a big step in holding on to those unforgettable moments that stick long after the credits roll. The entertainment giant has upgraded its Moments feature and allows and give users and viewers more control over how they relive their favorite scenes.
To recall, Netflix introduced the Moments feature last year, allowing subscribers to have short highlights from shows and movies. The feature is fun, but it only allows to have limited pre-selected clips curated by Netflix. In a latest update, Netflix changed this limitation by letting fans set their own start and end points when creating clips.
It means you can now capture anything, including a five-second punchline to an entire musical number, and save it directly within the app.
The Netflix Moments feature is quite simple and designed for mobile users. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use this feature.
Step 1: While watching a show or movie, just tap the ‘Clip’ button when you reach a scene you want to save.
Step 2: You will then be able to drag markers to adjust where the scene ends, customizing the clip length to your liking.
Step 3: Once saved, clips appear under the “My Netflix” tab, making them easy to rewatch or share with friends anytime.

The move reflects Netflix’s understanding of how audiences now interact with entertainment. Platforms like TikTok and YouTube thrive on fan edits and short viral clips that often spread faster than the shows themselves. By officially bringing clipping into its own ecosystem, Netflix not only improves the user experience but also ensures its shows stay in the spotlight long after their release.
The update rolled out alongside the much-anticipated release of Wednesday Season 2, Part 2. Considering how the first season’s dance sequence became a cultural phenomenon through viral edits, Netflix is clearly betting that fans will love having a built-in tool to create similar moments themselves.
With this upgrade, Netflix isn’t just offering a feature—it’s acknowledging how fans watch, share, and celebrate the stories they love.
