Gemini App Gets THIS Big Update Which Is Already Available With ChatGPT

The Gemini app is finally getting much-requested features, which may change your user experience. While taking it live, the Vice President of Google Labs and Gemini, Josh Woodward, have revealed that the latest update of the Gemini app lets you finally upload an audio file in the upload section, which has been limited to document files and images.

The update is already live on Android, iOS, and the web version of the Gemini app. It allows you to upload audio files in the famous formats of MP3, WAV, AAC, and more. But, as expected, there are some limitations with the free-tier Gemini subscription.

Gemini Audio File Upload Update

The latest option to upload the audio files lets you upload up to 10 audio files in one go; however, the limit is capped at 10 minutes in total across the files. On the other hand, the Google paid tiers can get up to three hours of audio file upload. This finally makes it in sync with ChatGPT, in terms of competition, as the rival AI giant already has this feature. 

Gemini AI Mode Gets New Languages, And More

The latest update of the Gemini app isn’t limited to the audio file upload, but its AI mode also gets the support of five new languages, including Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, and Brazilian Portuguese. “With the advanced multimodal and reasoning capabilities of our custom version of Gemini 2.5 in Search, we’ve made huge strides in language understanding, so our most advanced AI search capabilities are locally relevant and useful in each new language we support,” Google mentioned in a blog post. 

What else? Apart from these, Gemini-powered NotebookLM software has also expanded with the capability of new report styles in over 80 languages. It must be noted that NotebookLM already had an option to upload audio files.
